Talk-show host and actress who appeared in John Waters's cult films Hairspray (1988) and Cry-Baby (1990) before gaining fame as the formerly rotund princess of daytime talk. Other films include Serial Mom (1994), Mrs. Winterbourne (1996) and Cecil B. DeMented (2000, another John Waters film.)
