Jack Lemmon Age: 76
beloved and versatile actor who excelled at both comic and dramatic roles. In many of his comedies, Lemmon portrayed an Everyman, prone to mishaps and pratfalls. He won two Oscars, one for his supporting role as Ensign Pulver in Mister Roberts (1955) and another for his lead role in 1973's Save the Tiger. Lemmon starred opposite Walter Matthau in several films, including The Fortune Cookie (1966), The Odd Couple (1968), and Grumpy Old Men (1993). He collaborated with director Billy Wilder in The Apartment (1960) and Some Like It Hot (1959). Lemmon won an Emmy Award in 2000 for Tuesdays with Morrie. Died: Los Angeles, June 27, 2001
